To one side is a neatly fitted kitchenette with a ceramic two ring hob and combination microwave and a small oak dining suite.

One step leads up to the seating area with period furnishings and comfortable leather armchairs facing the hearth with the original cloam oven revealed. French Windows open onto a sheltered terrace, backed at the rear by the old stone quarry wall.

A narrow winding staircase leads up to the charming bedroom with a sloping beamed ceiling, rustic pine floorboards and a king-size bed. A roof light allows visitors to watch the night sky. To complete the accommodation there is a small en-suite bathroom W.C. with wash basin and a bath with hand shower attachment.

The owner regrets that only adults will be accepted because of the potential danger of the river.

Accommodation overview: This attractive comfortable and welcoming stone cottage is in the middle of the fishing village, about 75 yards from the harbour and adjacent to a millstream which runs through a neighbour's garden.

Entered by a stable door directly from the road, there is a beamed, newly fitted kitchen with a slate floor and pine dining area. The sitting room with a window seat set into a bay over the stream, has a stone fireplace with coal effect fire. At the rear of the cottage is a hall / cloaks area and a bathroom W.C. with hand basin, shower over the bath and heated towel rail.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with two single beds, the other a double has an en-suite W.C. and basin. Slightly set apart from the cottage, a sunny patio garden at the rear has a bench seat, however pets will require supervision outside. The cottage is not suitable for toddlers. Although narrow cars may be unloaded outside, the village car park is at the top of the hill. The shops, inns and restaurants are all close at hand.

Please note:
Bed linen is available at £10 per double & £5 per single to be paid on arrival. Towels are not available. A weekly parking ticket currently costs £28 in the council car park, or £18 in Trewetha Lane car park, a slightly longer walk.

Accommodation overview: This traditional 400 year old fisherman’s cottage with views over the Fowey estuary is in the perfect spot, having the Old Customs House and the former Old Post Office adjacent to the property.

The cottage entrance is at the top of some granite steps and the property is accessed via three steps down to a small landing. Through a door and down two further steps takes you into a delightful and comfortably furnished kitchen, dining area and lounge with fine views across the Fowey estuary. The cottage has been updated with all the modern necessities while keeping reminders of its antiquity. For example, the wall behind the hearth is exposed to show the ancient stone construction.

A stairway from the landing leads to the upper floor, where there are two bedrooms, each having an exposed stone wall. One small cosy bedroom is perfect for young children with a bunk bed. The main bedroom has a king size bed and wonderful views of the estuary. The separate family bathroom on this floor has a bath with electric shower overhead, WC and a basin. An additional one bedroom cosy studio annex, situated on the lower ground floor of Tucker’s Luck, is accessed via a separate stable door. The annex contains twin beds, a separate bathroom with handheld shower attachment over the bath, WC and hand basin, and an enclosed laundry area with Belfast sink.

Whether you are looking for a place to simply relax, or want a more active break, Fowey’s waterside location has much to offer. The town is well provided with shops, pubs and restaurants to suit all budgets. Ferries across the harbour to Polruan (passenger only) and to Bodinnick (car and passenger). There are  seasonal passenger ferries to Mevagissey and boat tours from the Town Quay. Facilities for various water sports include sailing, canoeing and fishing. There is swimming at Readymoney Cove which can be reached by foot within 15 minutes and provides a sandy beach for children.

Fowey and the surrounding area caters for walkers The Southwest Coastal Path connects Fowey with Polperro and with Polkerris. There are many coastal and inland walks, including the Saints Way heading to the North Coast. For those who enjoy visiting gardens and historic houses. Lanhydrock House (NT), The Eden Project, and the Lost Gardens of Helligan are all a 30 minute drive respectively, as are a number of other historic sites and beautiful gardens.

Hallworthy 2 miles has a country pub and Marshgate 2.5 miles with its P.O store is the nearest village for your day to day needs. Wainhouse Corner 5 miles has a pub, garage and P.O store. The nearest beach is 7 miles away at Crackington Haven with the resort of Bude with its shops, restaurants, tennis courts and watersports is within a 30 minute drive. Trelash is on the Cornish Way cycle network and the south west coast path at Boscastle gives access to some dramatic coastal walks with Bodmin Moor providing many rugged scenic walks nearby. The historic houses & gardens at Pencarrow, Prideaux & Lanhydrock are all within a 40 minute drive. The coastal towns of Boscastle and Tintagel are 7 & 10 miles respectively and the picturesque harbour village of Port Isaac famous for Doc Martin is within a 30 minute drive.

The Kings Arms at Paul is one of West Cornwall's most atmospheric pubs, 1.5 miles, and for a wider selection of amenities, Newlyn is 2 miles with local shops, pubs, galleries and a busy fish market.  Penzance is a 10 minute drive where there is a good choice of shops, supermarkets, Cornwall’s only promenade, and regular ferry services to the Isles of Scilly

Trewidden, Trereife and Trengwainton Gardens are less than 3 miles respectively and the immediate area abounds in country walks and bridal ways with an abundance of birds and wildlife.  It is also an excellent base for exploring West Cornwall with St Michael's Mount at Marazion, Porthcurno home to the Minack Theatre and the surfing beach at Sennen Cove all less than 10 miles away.  Boating trips for sailing, sight-seeing and fishing are available from Penzance, St Ives and Porthleven.

Accommodation overview: Pennti is a very unique and unusual property, lovingly built by local owners. They have used wood from the nearby Tregothnan estate to create items for the holiday cottage.

Pennti truly is a unique cottage, converted from a farm piggery and providing a tranquil base from which to explore the surrounding beautiful countryside. It is hard to believe that despite being in the heart of rural Cornwall, Pennti is a mere five miles from the bustling county city of Truro. Built with the scenery in mind, every room has views towards open countryside. From the private parking space and enclosed front patio garden, entrance to the cottage is through a conservatory which has seating to enjoy the vista. The remaining ground floor has an open plan living/dining/kitchen area, which allows a feeling of space and light throughout. This room has a log burner on a raised hearth ensuring a cosy welcome at all times. The owners have imaginatively used wood from the local Tregothnan estate to enhance practical everyday items. The handmade steep wooden staircase to the mezzanine sleeping platform (suitable only for children over 14 years of age) is one such example. Taken from one huge oak tree and sliced down the middle, its natural shape wraps around the stairs. This mezzanine level has two single mattresses on the floor, and restricted head height. The bright and cosy conservatory thoughtfully has binoculars provided, to help view the wildlife and birds that populate the hedgerows and local woodlands. From this room there is a door through to the double bedroom, which offers uninterrupted scenery from floor to ceiling windows. A peaceful retreat with many walks from the door, Pennti offers an ideal place to rest and relax.

With access to a large paddock with pond and woodland you will soon relax into your well-equipped hide-away. Positioned 30 yards away from the main house you are totally independent but can be booked as part of Colan Barton if desired. Bos Lowen has been imaginatively transformed with attention to detail and quality fitments. From your open patio area, entrance is via a stable door into the kitchen / dining room with slate flooring and bespoke kitchen. Three steps down lead to the spacious vaulted living - sleeping area. A large comfortable sofa and a log burner on a raised hearth add a welcome homely and romantic touch. Relax by watching TV with Freeview, play DVD's or listen to music on the I-Pod docking station with CD player and radio. The bathroom is equally spacious with contemporary quality fittings and beautifully tiled floors and walls. We are sure you will enjoy many peaceful moments and the enchanting surrounding area has a quite magical feel.
