Accommodation overview: This converted sandstone barn is full of character, with large arched doorways, beamed ceilings and feature stone walls. The Granary is situated in the tiny hamlet of Scalehouses, which consists of a farm and 2 or 3 houses, between the pretty villages of Croglin and Renwick in the Eden valley. This tranquil area of Cumbria is completely unspoilt by tourists and although it does not have the drama of the Lakes the countryside is equally impressive, but without the crowds. It lies on the edge of the Pennine hills on the Coast to Coast cycle route and is perfect for walking, cycling, pony trekking, riding and canoeing. Accommodation overview: Loughrigg Holme sits underneath the much loved fell of the same name and was once the home of Wordsworths daughter, Dora and her husband Edward Quillinan, Rich in literary history connections, visitors to Loughrigg Holme have included Charlotte Bronte, the poet Matthew Arnold and Harriet Martineau. This chocolate box property,originally a farmhouse, built in 17th century and extended in the early 19th century is a beautiful example of a traditional Lakeland residence, her 2 1/2 acres of gardens and fellside including croquet lawn blending effortlessly into the slopes of Loughrigg and displaying a wealth of ancient shrubs and flora, cleverly married with more formal patio, lawn areas and natural water fall. Accommodation overview: Croft House is a traditional Cross Passage farmhouse, dating back to the 17th Century. It is a Grade II listed building. The Cross Passage refers to the days when it separated the animals from the rest of the house - in those days everything lived under the same roof, the animals providing heat for the rest of the house! Nowadays the animals live separately.. New owners upgraded the house in 2011 into a very comfortable and welcoming house which is full of character and traditional features, including large stone fire places and walls, with lots of oak beams.
