Oakfield House was built in 1850 as a country mansion for a local family and in 1883 the building was enlarged to become a superior country residence. In 1943 the mansion became a hotel and has now been modernised and the main building has been separated into four spacious and elegant apartments and the outbuildings into character cottages.
