Accommodation overview: This deceptively spacious cottage could be more aptly named The Tardis. Laid out over 4 floors this 18th century cottage was stripped back to the bare walls and rebuilt in 2011, creating a stunning holiday cottage. It retains a lot of original character, including slate and timber floors and sandstone fire surrounds, enhanced with the very best of furnishings, from the elegant nickel bedsteads to the contemporary bathrooms and the modern kitchen with Siemens appliances. Marys cottage also has a great location, very close to the town centre and amenities, yet in a quiet area.

Silecroft lies in the quiet South Eastern corner of the Lake District National Park nestling between the sea and Black Coombe. Wordsworth described the area as "where the mountains meet the sea". Over the last century it has been used as a school and hotel before being converted into a stunning complex of apartments. There are two acres of grounds including mature trees, manicured lawns, shrubberies and more natural areas to enjoy and an all weather tennis court is available for guests use. For the less energetic, the gardens are large enough for a leisurely stroll and are full of birds, rabbits and the occasional deer. Meadowcroft is a gentle 20 minute stroll from Bowness via the shores of Lake Windermere, so you have the option of leaving the car behind to make a morning of a pleasant amble into Bowness with its shops, cafes and restaurants, a local supermarket, an internet cafe and the Beatrix Potter Centre.
