It is an excellent location for exploring the pretty villages and waterways of the Norfolk Broads. The sandy beaches of the East Coast are also nearby, with the cathedral city of Norwich and the bustling seaside resort of Great Yarmouth within easy driving distance. The village has one of the country's few chain ferries which take you from one side of the river to the other making the Suffolk Heritage Coast easily accessible. Great Massingham is a very pretty country village with traditional flint cottages overlooking the village green and ponds. The village is well placed for enjoying the numerous attractions of the area, and is within easy reach of the North Norfolk Coast. This is a great area for walking and cycling with The Peddars Way and an abundance of quiet lanes nearby. The area is also superb for bird and nature lovers with Titchwell and Heacham reserves a short distance away. The Royal Estate at Sandringham is approximately five miles away as are the wide sandy beaches of Hunstanton and Brancaster.
