Accommodation overview: This quiet village is so central for the North Norfolk Coast and the market towns of Holt and Aylsham. It offers peace and tranquillity in a quiet village that is an ideal base for exploring the diversity of the Norfolk countryside and coast. Hempstead is a small, sleepy and pretty village just two miles from the picturesque Georgian market town of Holt with its selection of galleries, restaurants and independent shops. Surrounded by the rolling countryside of the Holt ridge, it is an ideal place to explore and is great for cycling, walking and bird watching. The coast is only five miles away and the choice is quite diverse from the beaches of Cromer and Sheringham to the shingle of Salthouse and the marshes of Blakeney and Cley. The ruins of Baconsthorpe Castle can be found in the adjoining village, alternatively you could walk to Selbrigg Lake where the River Glaven rises. White Horse Cottage is a charming end of terrace, brick and flint cottage in an elevated position in the village and backs onto open fields with lovely views. Whilst retaining its character it offers modern facilities and accommodation which is very comfortable. Surrounded by quiet lanes this area is a haven for walkers and cyclists and with the coast at Sheringham and Cromer less than 10 miles away its great for families too.
