Accommodation overview: Set at the end of a private drive and within spacious, landscaped grounds sits The Hideaway, a comfortable modern bungalow midway between the medieval town of Kendal (3 miles) and the well known town of Windermere (6 miles). The location, just off the A591 is ideal for touring both the Lake and the Dales although once settled within the colourful grounds, its likely that you will want to take in the beautiful gardens or lovely views from the rear across open countryside and to the nearby fells beyond. Accommodation overview: Taking its name from the delightful outlook across an open meadow and to the fells beyond, Meadow Cottage in Staveley is an ideal base for those who prefer to be on the fringes of the busier resorts, yet only minutes away by car. The village has a host of excellent pubs and interesting outlets from cycle shops to woodturning and is at the foot of the Kentmere Valley which is rich in wildlife. Kingfishers can be seen above the weir at the edge of the village in pursuit of salmon leaping on their journey up river and head of the valley has been a nesting area of the golden eagle in past years. All this within 15 minutes of the M6!
