This pretty semi detached thatched cottage is tucked away in Bucks Mills, a picturesque village on the edge of the sea. Full of character features including pine latch doors, small paned windows with deep sills and wooden flooring; it is perfect for couples looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Approached by several steps through the front garden the entrance door opens directly into the charming living/ dining room with an impressive stone inglenook and comfy sofa. The country style kitchen is fitted in pine and to the rear of the cottage, with two steps up, is a separate utility room and spacious refurbished modern bathroom. Upstairs are two lovely bedrooms, carpeted for comfort and one having a sloping ceiling in parts. Tiered lawns and multi level gardens, not suitable for small children, give ample space to relax with the sound of the stream meandering by. There are plenty of rock pools, good for prawning, and you will find the view along to Clovelly and out to Lundy Island quite spectacular. If you like waking up to far reaching, panoramic views of beautiful open countryside then you'll love Slee's Meadow View. You might also love the fact that this delightful, tastefully decorated modern detached property is just a mile from the sea and the very lovely yet rarely crowded Peppercombe Beach. At high tide this quiet stretch of beach is rocky but low tide will reveal deserted sands and some of the best rock pooling in the area. Little explorers love it! Even in high summer you could be alone here. The walk, through the wooded National Trust owned Peppercombe Valley, is superb and takes about 10-15 minutes. Dogs and their owners will love it - especially as the coast path is just 10 minute's stroll from the property.
Slee's Meadow View is also just a ten minute drive from the surf and sands at Westward Ho!, five minutes from the Big Sheep theme park, five minutes from The Milky Way fun park, ten minutes from the quaint village and harbour at Clovelly and about 30-40 minutes drive along the coast road to the surf and beaches at Bude.
Slee's Meadow View has a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area so it's a very social house to spend time in. A breakfast bar provides informal dining (or a chance to scrutinise the work of the chef whilst enjoying a glass of wine) and a large dining table with six places and a rise and fall lamp can bring a sense of occasion if you need it! On cooler nights the wood burning stove will add an extra cosy feel too. The southerly aspect means that the sun streams in through patio doors on sunny days and the conservatory, with its bookcases and comfy Chesterfield sofa, offers a quiet space to read or take in the views. Both bedrooms are spacious and have patio doors to make the most of the views.
