Fabulous countryside beckons from the doorstep with country lanes, woods and the fantastic Cornish coastline is only 3 miles away. If you enjoy surfing then visit Newquay and one of its 7 award winning golden beaches. Within a few miles radius you could visit the National Trust's Trerice House, go Mediterranean or Tropical at the world famous Eden Project, or even cycle the Camel trail from Wadebridge to Padstow. If you love good food then you will be just as happy visiting any of these areas to sample world renowned cuisine. From the shared walled garden and private screened patio area, enter through double French doors and find this well-appointed Cornish cottage. The characterful lounge has a lovely garden outlook and with its own fireplace will keep you cosy on cooler evenings. Accommodation overview: Nestling in a pretty Devon village just on the edge of Exmoor National Park, this lovely conversion has been stylishly renovated and is perfect for couples and families. Brayford is one of those picturesque traditional Devon villages that you may only discover by chance. Situated just on the edge of Exmoor National Park surrounded by rolling fields and woodland and with the River Bray running through the centre, it is an ideal location from which to explore all this wonderful area has to offer. Built in the 19th century as a Baptist Chapel and Manse, this lovely conversion is at the heart of the village and enjoys a south facing garden leading to a one and a half acre paddock bordered by a stream. Hidden on the chapel side of the building, which is the owners own occasionally used holiday home is a small plot of headstones. Entering through the large conservatory into the hallway you will find to the right a stylish comfortable sitting room with original fireplace and to the left an attractive modern dining kitchen. Accommodation overview: Pennti is a very unique and unusual property, lovingly built by local owners. They have used wood from the nearby Tregothnan estate to create items for the holiday cottage. Pennti truly is a unique cottage, converted from a farm piggery and providing a tranquil base from which to explore the surrounding beautiful countryside. It is hard to believe that despite being in the heart of rural Cornwall, Pennti is a mere five miles from the bustling county city of Truro. Built with the scenery in mind, every room has views towards open countryside. From the private parking space and enclosed front patio garden, entrance to the cottage is through a conservatory which has seating to enjoy the vista. The remaining ground floor has an open plan living/dining/kitchen area, which allows a feeling of space and light throughout. This room has a log burner on a raised hearth ensuring a cosy welcome at all times. The owners have imaginatively used wood from the local Tregothnan estate to enhance practical everyday items. The handmade steep wooden staircase to the mezzanine sleeping platform (suitable only for children over 14 years of age) is one such example. Taken from one huge oak tree and sliced down the middle, its natural shape wraps around the stairs. This mezzanine level has two single mattresses on the floor, and restricted head height. The bright and cosy conservatory thoughtfully has binoculars provided, to help view the wildlife and birds that populate the hedgerows and local woodlands. The little town of Bampton is just 3 miles away with a lovely choice of shops pubs and restaurants, while Tiverton a ten minute drive, offers a wide selection of attractions including the twelfth century Tiverton Castle and Bickleigh Mill, located on the River Exe and offering trout lakes and fishing with picnic area, farm shops, waterside tea garden and much more. Just a few miles to the north, Exmoor National Park has something for everyone, walking, climbing, cycling or just enjoying a cream tea in the coastal resort of Lynmouth where spectacular cliffs plunge down to the sea. Adjacent to the owners own home we are delighted to offer four high quality stone built cottages, recently converted from the original farm buildings, using ECO friendly under floor heating and with excellent facilities. Overlooking the shared front lawned garden, each cottage has an individual patio with garden furniture. A special treat is the outdoor Jacuzzi Spa Pool which is available to all guests throughout the year. A discount of 10% is available should all of the cottages be booked together for a group of family or friends.
