Thatcher’s Leggett is a lovely stone cottage nestling in the grounds of the owners own beautiful 16th century thatched Devon Longhouse, just a few minutes stroll from the village centre and path leading to fabulous Croyde Bay. Perfect for keen walkers, there is also a bridleway / footpath leading from the doorstep all the way to the stunning beach at Putsborough around 20 minutes away. The light, bright and spacious open plan living room with kitchen and dining area boasts a high vaulted ceiling, comfy seating and a wood burning stove, making it the cosiest of retreats at any time of year. An attractive twin bedroom is also situated on the ground floor together with a modern bathroom. From the entrance hallway a smart wooden staircase runs up to the mezzanine floor with a spacious galleried bedroom and ensuite cloakroom. Eclectic styling, sloping ceiling and lovely views over the surrounding countryside from the Velux style windows make this a really special room. As the cottage is semi detached a pathway runs a little way from the front door giving access to the neighbouring property, however a side door from the kitchen leads out to a private area with steps up to a pretty courtyard patio with far reaching countryside views, an ideal spot for daytime barbecues or drinks in the balmy summer evenings while the children are tucked up in bed. The friendly owners run a small bed & breakfast from their lovely home and so should a family decide to bring grandparents along they can stay in a room very close by. This attractive galleried landing area, with far reaching views, is a lovely spot for relaxing in the comfy chairs to read a book or the morning papers, and a second TV is a useful bonus for families. A real treat is the large lawn to the side of the cottage, ideal for children to run and play, and the pretty front patio is just perfect for leisurely al fresco meals, barbecues or just relaxing at any time of day. Wilrose Cottage is a delightful terraced character property with a pleasant outlook over the banks of the East Lyn River. A stable door and hallway lead to a comfortable living room with open fire. The separate kitchen/breakfast room is fitted in a natural pine with beams, ceramic tiled floor and a Rayburn set in an attractive stone and brick fireplace. A stable door off the kitchen leads to a rear patio providing a good sitting out area. Fairly steep stairs, narrow in parts, in keeping with an older character cottage lead to the first floor with two pretty bedrooms and a large modern bathroom with a white period style suite. Wilrose Cottage is only a short walk from the centre of Lynmouth, with its harbour and variety of shops and tearooms. It makes a cosy retreat and ideal base in this area of outstanding natural beauty.
