It has a pub, restaurants, tea room and 2 marinas and is within walking distance of Keswick, which has a wealth of amenities and tourist attractions. There are fabulous walks on the fells around Portinscale, mountain bike trails in Whinlatter forest and sailing on Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lakes.
