Situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Hesket Newmarket on the northern edge of the Lake District National Park and Caldbeck Fells. The Cottage looks out onto the pretty village green and the surrounding upland countryside. It is next door but one to the renowned village pub, The Crown Inn which is unique in that they brew their own beer and it is owned and run by a committee of local residents. There is also a village store, Post Office and tea room. This is the peaceful part of the Lake District where you may enjoy walks away from all the tourists.

Accommodation overview: Force Mill is in a lovely location for a family country holiday, surrounded by farmland, forest, a stream and nearby waterfall (Force) which gives it its name. Go south for Rusland Woods, Fell Foot, the Haverthwaite Steam Railway and the Windermere Cruises; North for Grizedale Centre (the Go-Ape experience) - safe cycle trails, forest walks and the more rugged fells. Coniston and Brantwood are a good days walk there and back. At home you can enjoy the large enclosed garden, well-furnished and with fine views and ample safe parking. The house is recently refurbished and has three restful bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, a further shower room, and a light airy living/dining room with wood burning stove. Nearby villages 1 mile away have friendly pubs with good bar meals. Free tennis is available at Satterthwaite - bring your own rackets. Nord Vue Barn, as the name implies, was an 18th century barn which the owners converted to an extremely spacious holiday cottage, with the best of traditional and modern features.
