Accommodation overview: A truly wonderful chocolate box cottage in a beautiful rural location and with a luxurious outdoor hot tub To stay at Modbury Cottage is to experience an escape from the rigours of modern day living, leave your stresses behind and welcome the peace and tranquillity that this quintessential thatched cottage has to offer. Nestling in the heart of Ruby Country, surrounded by its own secluded gardens complete with luxurious hot tub and a babbling stream what could be more perfect. You will find intriguing character features throughout including oak breams, vaulted ceilings, whitewashed walls and cobbled floors, with every turn offering new delights. The spacious living/ dining room boasts an impressive inglenook with open fireplace and original bread oven flanked by comfy sofas. Granite style worktops complement the light oak kitchen which also has a small breakfast table. As in many cottages of this era, the bathroom is on the ground floor. On the upstairs landing a relaxing reading area has been cleverly created with pretty windows overlooking the garden and the two bedrooms lead off. The stylish double room has immense character with vaulted ceiling, beams and the original chimney breast whilst the pretty twin is simply furnished with lovely touches. And there is so much to do in this beautiful area with many Ruby trails leading almost from your doorstep. Why not explore some of the traditional market towns such as Hatherleigh and Holsworthy, or visit the pretty villages of Shebbear and Sheepwash and sample the fresh local produce on offer in the local stores and village pubs. The stunning beaches of both North Devon and North Cornwall are within easy reach and Modbury Cottage will welcome you home at the end of a busy day, whatever time of year. Living room with TV with Freeview, DVD, stereo and open fire. Bathroom with bath and mixer handset over bath, WC and basin. First floor: Bedroom 1 with King. Bedroom 2 with Twin.
