Accommodation overview: Conveniently situated between the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales, Holly Cottage nestles in a semi rural position on the outskirts of the village of Girsby and has been recently converted to a particularly high standard. The cottage is adjacent to the owners home and livery yard and has been stylishly furnished and decorated, enjoying the warmth and comfort of a wood burning stove in the lounge which is open to the eaves and from where a beautiful spiral chandelier takes pride of place! The lounge opens up to a superb tasteful kitchen with adjacent dining area featuring a large chunky table and very comfortable leather dining chairs. The master bedroom houses a zip and link bed which can be used as either a super King size bed or full size twin beds to offer flexibility, whilst the second bedroom, built into the eaves of the house provides a single bed with a pullout bed and a large velux window which opens to a Cabrio balcony. Each of the bedrooms has access to the Jack and Jill style bathroom. Outside the cottage is surrounded by paddocks, a gravelled patio with garden furniture and BBQ to the rear and a large pond stocked with Koi Carp to the front. The cottage has been completely redesigned with a spacious open plan living space at first floor level taking in the views across to Fremington Edge. The cottage is heated by comfortable underfloor heating, with solar panels for hot water and an efficient wood burner provides the lounge area with a toasty spot to warm the toes after a day out and about. Burnside is the perfect choice for couples requiring a base from which to explore the area with the ever popular Bridge Inn a two minute walk away serving good food, and Swaledales capital Reeth just under a mile away with tea rooms , restaurants, crafts and shops. Excellent walking through beautiful wildflower meadows and across sheep dotted fields can be accessed from the doorstep. The area is also popular with cyclists who can discover the scenery along the quiet meandering roads and bridleways in the National Park. Refurbished in 2011 the cottage offers cosy and welcoming accommodation spanning three floors and offering superb views over the river and adjoining open countryside particularly from the gable end windows. The cottage also has the added attraction of a picturesque unfenced pondside garden which attracts an abundance of wildlife throughout the year. Although the pond is probably only about one foot in depth, young children must be strictly supervised at all times whilst in the garden. The only route through the hamlet is by footbridge which is adjacent to the cottage and with no through traffic, offering a truly peaceful location. Langcliffe is approximately 1 mile from the busy market town of Settle, with an outdoor market held each Tuesday. Settle offers a host of shops, Booths Supermarket, a good selection of pubs and eating places, swimming pool/leisure centre and of course home to the famous Settle/Carlisle railway line. Riverside Cottage is perfectly positioned for the outdoor enthusiast with an abundance of walks direct from the door.
