Accommodation overview: This spacious, detached holiday cottage has views across to Porthcothan Bay and is a short walk to the beautiful sandy beach of Porthcothan which is flanked by sand dunes. The Roundhouse has been converted with a light and airy feel and provides spacious accommodation. The kitchen/dining room faces the terraced enclosed garden and patio, where steps lead down to an enclosed round pond. The original roundhouse forms the very comfortable living room which has a wood-burning stove and provides access to the conservatory and the sunny patio which is ideal for a morning cup of coffee or alfresco dining. The enclosed garden enjoys views to the neighboring farmland and countryside. The owners own the field adjoining the property which guests can use for activities like ball games. Close by are a number of sandy beaches ideal for a family day out. Also within easy reach are Port Isaac, a pretty fishing village made famous by the TV series Doc Martin, Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, and Padstow, with its working harbour, array of shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurant. It is a short drive to Watergate Bay where Jamie Olivers’ Fifteen restaurant can be found and a beautiful long sandy beach, ideal for surfing and body boarding, and Newquay, the home of surfing with the famous Fistral Beach, is nearby. Also in Newquay are a number of attractions including the zoo, the Blue Reef Aquarium and its numerous sandy beaches. Shop 400 yards, pub 200 yards. Spacious living room with wood-burning stove.
