Close to local attractions suited to many interests and tastes, and its central location in South Somerset makes it an ideal base for touring across the South West from Stonehenge to Plymouth Hoe and beyond. The immediate area is ideal for countryside and wildlife lovers, walkers and cyclists. A little further afield are the Blackdown Hills, the Quantocks and Exmoor, each offering stunning moorland walks and many character-filled villages. Nearby are the historic attractions of Regency Bath and its Abbey, Wells and its Cathedral, and Glastonbury with its mystical Tor, whilst for those seeking some additional retail therapy, there is Clarks Village shopping outlet in Street. With its high ceilings, Georgian features and tastefully furnished to a high standard, it offers a lovely retreat in south/central Somerset, 3 miles north of Langport and 10 miles south of Glastonbury, with its famous Tor, providing a relaxing holiday base to explore the Somerset Levels and the many attractions in the area. In the main house there are 5 bedrooms, comprising four double (two emperor beds, one super king and one king-size) and a twin-bedded room, two bathrooms, and on the ground floor a spacious dining-room, drawing room, sitting room and kitchen. Adjacent and connected to the main house is a self contained annex for 4 with double and twin-bedded rooms, bathroom, living room and kitchen. There is walking and riding on the Somerset Levels, as well as fishing, golf and many family attractions in the area, such as Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum (with its prototype of Concorde), the Haynes Motor Museum with its fine collection of vintage cars, Clark’s Village at Street, Cricket St Thomas Wildlife Park and the famous spectacular Cheddar Gorge and Caves. High Ham itself is architecturally interesting and contains a part Norman church and a National Trust thatched windmill, which is the only one in the country. There are also many fine historic houses to visit: Montacute House and Gardens, Hestercombe House, Wells Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace and more.
