Accommodation overview: The Farmhouse is a detached, Grade II, listed 17th-century Tudor brick house and sits next to the owner’s golf club, hotel and spa. This large, well-presented and equipped house offers an ideal place to base a family holiday or a short break with friends or family. It has its own private drive and garden and guests have use of the facilities at the golf club and spa. The spa has a swimming pool, hot tub, gym, steam room, Jacuzzi, spa treatments and hairdresser (some facilities at extra cost). The championship golf course is 6,904 yards, par 71, and is set in 160 acres. It also has driving range, academy course, chipping and pitching green. The club house has a bar and restaurant which has live music most evenings and Sunday lunchtimes. Nearby, enjoy the Ferndown, Stour and Forest Trail and Stour Valley Way. Further afield are the many coastal and inland footpaths including the Dorset Coastal Path enjoying the Jurassic coastline. The local area has two popular parks: Avon Heath Country Park and Moors Valley Country Park. The nearest traffic-free cycle paths are in Hurn Forest and Castleman Trail. There are many all over the New Forest National Park, where wild ponies roam freely among miles of heath land. There are also many other places of interest to visit within the area, such as the village of Burley, Exbury Gardens and Beaulieu Motor Museum. Regular ferries to the Isle of Wight depart from the famous royal yachting town of Lymington. Bournemouth is close by with its Blue Flag beach, well kept town gardens, trips on the Bournemouth Eye, which rises high above the town to give the most amazing panoramic views over the whole area. At the foot of the pier is the fascinating Oceanarium where the whole family can discover life beneath the waves. Poole is within easy reach, with its Blue Flag beach at Sandbanks and the harbour town where trips to Brownsea Island (NT) can be enjoyed. Shop ½ mile, pub ¼ mile, restaurant on site, beach 9 miles.
