Accommodation overview: Off the beaten track and nestled in the heart of the South Devon countryside, Stannings occupies an outstanding position overlooking Dartmoor and surrounding countryside. This thoughtfully designed, spacious, detached house, built in 1840, is perfect for family gatherings or groups to get together. The large modern kitchen and separate sun room commands views over the garden and fields beyond. The spacious living room with large inglenook and wood-burning stove for cosy evenings in. The gardens are set in ¾ of an acre, ideal for children and a dog (to be kept on a lead as there could be sheep in the next field). There are seven spacious bedrooms, the master bedroom has a wonderful large terrace with its own table and chairs and stunning views across to Dartmoor. There are footpaths and bridleways right outside the door. Stannings is perfectly placed for walking, cycling and exploring the many delights and natural wonders of South Devon. Dartmoor is a 8 miles, with its heather clad tors, dramatic scenery, ponies and delightful villages. There are many places on the doorstep, and the nearest sandy beach is just 3 miles. Take a trip to Paignton Zoo or a ride on the steam railway from Paignton to Kingswear, where a ferry sails to historic Dartmouth. For the more adventurous, take the family to Go Ape, a great family day out. Further afield is the historic city of Plymouth with its indoor shopping complex, or visit the Hoe and Barbican. Also worth a visit is the National Marine Aquarium. There are many NT properties all within a short drive from the property. Golf, sailing, horse riding, paintballing are all available locally.
