There is easy access to the coastal town of Aldeburgh, plus castles and much more to explore at Framlingham and Orford. Southwold Denes - Southwold Denes stretches from Gun Hill to the harbour's mouth and acts as a vital sea defence for the town. Suffolk Coast and Heaths (to whom our customer's £1 booking donation goes) are working with several agencies to restore and maintain the important area. It is the home of skylarks and little terns (please be careful not to disturb the nests) and the habitat of sea holly, sea pea and bird's foot trefoil to name a few. It is centred around a large green and is one of the most popular places to stay on the Heritage Coast as it is an ideal base for the beach or for Minsmere, as well as the coastal heaths and forests.
